Warnings and review limits
- Default PreallocateMB=1024 allocates about 1 GB extra managed memory and may cause memory pressure or crashes on low-memory systems; set PreallocateMB=0 to disable.
- Creator performance measurements cover one Windows PC and often combine DXVK with the fix; results elsewhere are unverified. External BepInEx and optional DXVK were not assessed.
- No installation, game compatibility or performance test was performed. Source-to-release reproducibility remains unverified.
What changes in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire?
Pre-grows the managed heap, defers corpse collider creation, cleans leaked combat tooltips and warms icon atlases. Performance results are creator measurements from one PC, often combined with DXVK; no independent performance claim is made.

Getting started
Back up saves and existing mods. Install the Windows x64 Mono BepInEx 5.4.23.5 package into the game folder and start/quit the game once. Put the reviewed DeadfireStutterFix.dll in BepInEx/plugins. PreallocateMB=0 disables the default 1 GB heap allocation. External BepInEx and optional DXVK are separate unreviewed packages.
